Aldis Teams with Intermountain Traffic, LLC and Southwest Traffic Systems, Inc.

Wazoo Sports Partners with the Louisville Bats

April 2010—Wazoo Sports has reached an agreement with the Louisville Bats, a Cincinnati Reds Triple A team, to broadcast all Bats home games in 2010 on the Wazoo Sports Network.

“The Louisville Bats have done an awesome job showcasing professional baseball to the fans in the Louisville area,” said Jeff Sheppard, Vice President of Business Development at Wazoo Sports. “Wazoo Sports is very excited about our partnership with the Louisville Bats as they continue to showcase their talent by expanding the coverage of Bats Baseball on the Wazoo Sports TV Network.”

Fund Manager Moncrief Participates in Roundtable Discussion with U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner

February 2010—Meritus Ventures Fund Manager, Ray Moncrief, participated in a roundtable discussion at Research Triangle Park that  on the need for continued support of community development capital programs that focus on small business development and underserved communities.

The round table was held by U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner, and it included U.S. Representatives David Price (NC-4) and Brad Miller (NC-13), as well as executives from the area. An article with more details and a picture of Mr. Moncrief and Mr. Geithner can be found here.

Fund Manager Vanderhoofven Speaks to Business & Technology Leaders on Venture Capital in the Region

February 2010—Meritus Ventures Fund Manager, Grady Vanderhoofven, was the guest speaker at the February meeting of the Innovation Valley Technology Council. Mr. Vanderhoofven presented an outstanding summary of venture capital in the state of Tennessee relative to venture capital hot spots across the country and in the southeastern U.S. 

Mr. Vanderhoofven’s presentation included statistics that show the economic impact of venture backed companies on job creation and wealth creation for a host community. A video of the presentation can be found on innovation and entrepreneurship blog outofthegarage.com.

Fund Manager Moncrief Testifies Before Congress on Benefit of Community Development Capital Programs

March 2010—Meritus Ventures Fund Manager, Ray Moncrief, testified before the House Committee on Financial Services on the importance and role of Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). Also testifying were Ms. Donna Gambrel, Director of the CDFI Program, and The Honorable Michael Barr, Assistant Secretary of Domestic Finance, U.S. Department of the Treasury.
